For people that would like to know more about the battle that has been raging in the area around the museum, and about the battle for Antwerpen and the Schelde, we can provide a so-called ‘Battle Tour’.

What is a ‘Battle Tour’? First of all, there is a tour in the museum, where an explanation about the Battle of the Schelde in 1940 – 1945. This explanation will be given in the traditional way, with a map.

Participants will also get a map of the area, on which the route and the stopping places are indicated. We will visit places where remains of the war can be seen, such as cannons, monuments, trenches and bunkers.

It is possible to, in consultation with the participants, extend the tour with a visit to the military cemeteries in Bergen op Zoom. We can also go to Zeeland, to visit the remains of the battle there.

If required, we can arrange lunch in a nearby restaurant, the “Jagersrust”.
